Collapse by Richard Stephenson
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
How does the setting figure into the book? Does it come to life? Did you feel you were experiencing the time and place in which the book was set?
This book has several important settings in it. Felt they were very detailed and you were right there struggling with them. All the hurricane problems were especially close to heart from living thru Katrina.
What are some of the book's themes? How important were they?
Wal-Mart, the employees, some of the big advantages, they had. The war issue with Iran. How they can never be really trusted. Beck's two hidden fortresses. Prison, how the system failed Richard. How the president lied to the American people and why.
Did the book end the way you expected?
Yes and No. I would have liked more closure.
Top 3 things I liked about the whole book
Realistic. Detail. Diversity in different characters. Understanding Howard
